Magellan and Elcano: the first voyage around the world

Five ships and about 270 men left Spain in September 1519; three years later one ship, the Victoria, returned with 18 survivors. Follow the route stage by stage – across the Atlantic, through the Strait of Magellan and the Pacific to the Philippines, where Magellan died, and home under Juan Sebastián Elcano.
